He headed a factory, Sascha Brastoff of California, Inc., in West Los Angeles, from 1953 until about 1973. He died in 1993. Here we have an outstanding example of a Sascha Brastoff Gloss Black Americana Ashtray that is 7 1/8 inches in diameter. Typical of his style, you see the dots used as accents and gold accents. This is a unique design. This definitely has that mid century modern feel. Outstanding ashtray in that it no chips, no cracks, and no repairs or crazing. Very minor wear to surface. Missing one dot. Any non-perfections are from the firing/manufacturing process. The white spots are studio light reflections. All pictures are original and un-edited.
